St. Francis House is an urban convent in the Mission District of San Francisco. We have a guest apartment on the street level which opens onto our flower and vegetable garden. It is surprisingly quiet. It has its own separate entrance, a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and a double bed and a single bed in the bedroom. Free internet access is available in the apartment. There is also a TV with basic cable. Limited on-street parking is available in the neighborhood.
We welcome guests who wish to come visit our house for short periods of time (normally 2 weeks or less), spend some time in retreat or enjoy a time of rest and recreation in the beautiful and interesting city of San Francisco.
Our suggested donation is $50 a night. Kitchen is equipped for self-catering. (Breakfast items are furnished in the apartment).
Three Ten Day Residential Immersions in Franciscan Spirituality are being offered in 2017. Join the Sisters of the Community of St. Francis at St. Francis House in San Francisco in a study of Franciscan Spirituality and a living out of that spirituality through participation in our life of prayer, work, ministry, and community.
Open to any interested woman over 18 (limit 2 participants per Immersion).
Room and board provided as part of this free program, but donations are always welcome. (Note: St. Francis House is not wheelchair accessible).
